These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Precept Admissions (the “Service”) and the purchase of The Examined Application, a digital, self-paced online course in college admissions (the “Course”). By creating an account, purchasing the Course, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Course is a digital, self-paced educational product delivered entirely online. Upon successful payment, access is granted immediately to your account and remains available for the lifetime of the Service. Nothing physical is shipped.
You must create an account to purchase and access the Course. You are responsible for the accuracy of your information and for keeping your password confidential. Accounts are for a single individual; you may not share your login. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and if you are a minor in your jurisdiction, you must have the consent of a parent or guardian.
The Course is offered for a one-time payment of $39.99 USD. Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider, Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card details. You are responsible for any applicable taxes. We may change the price of the Course at any time, but changes will not affect access you have already purchased.
Because the Course grants immediate and permanent access to digital materials, all sales are final and no refunds are offered, except where a refund is required by applicable law. See our Refund & Fulfillment Policy for details.
All Course content — including the written essays, modules, examples, and other materials — is the intellectual property of Precept Admissions and its authors. Your purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access the Course for your own use. You may not copy, share, redistribute, resell, publish, or publicly post any Course content, in whole or in part. Sharing your account or the Course content may result in suspension or termination without refund.
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to gain unauthorized access, disrupt the Service, scrape or bulk-download content, or use the Service in violation of any law.
The Course is provided for educational and informational purposes only. It offers guidance and examples; it is not professional, legal, or admissions counseling. We do not guarantee admission to any college, university, or program, or any particular outcome. Results depend on many factors outside our control.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Precept Admissions and its founders will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Course will not exceed the amount you paid for it.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above, and continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
